Our History

Don’t Need A Reason was born out of a chance encounter in 2010, when owner Neville Stephenson went into a shop to buy flowers for his wife, Denise, for no particular reason whatsoever.

The florist assumed he was buying them for her birthday, or because he needed to apologise, and was taken aback that he was buying a bouquet for ‘no reason’ other than to surprise and delight his wife.

It got Neville thinking that people rarely bought presents for each other unless they had a reason, such as an anniversary, wedding day or thank you. As a consequence, he had a light bulb moment that inspired him to set up a gift company, offering treats and presents for people who didn’t want or need an occasion to show those closest to them that they care.
